Spirit Walk: The Extraordinary Power of Acts for Ordinary People

Spirit Walk: The Extraordinary Power of Acts for Ordinary People

$17.95eBook: $9.99

The Holy Spirit is the Hidden Mover behind all personal life transformation and ministry fruitfulness. Though we know the Bible says to walk in the Spirit, the majority of Christians are illiterate (and even nervous) about how to practically live in His power. The result is lives marred by continued brokenness and ministries plagued by fruitlessness. In contrast, believers from Acts understood the ancient path of the Spirit Walk. That extraordinary power was not just for them, but for us also.

Gleaning insights from implementation in dozens of Acts-like movements around the world, Spirit Walk“lifts the hood and shows us the real secret behind apostolic, disciple-multiplying movements” (Neil Cole, author of Organic Church). Whether you need a movement of God in your personal life or in your ministry, this book takes you through the timeless principles of the Bible.

The Spirit Walk path has helped thousands of ordinary people shift from a fundamental reliance upon methods and self-helps to the essential reliance upon the Spirit who empowers these. Spirit Walkreminds us of the ancient path and explains it in a practical discipline that you can remember daily.

Discover how to start on the journey of being filled again and again by the Spirit. But more importantly, learn how to stay full of the Spirit as you abide in Christ throughout the day, and your life.

Kingdom First: Starting Churches that Shape Movements

Kingdom First: Starting Churches that Shape Movements

Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness.

There are few dreams more spiritually intoxicating than the dream of being used by God to start a new community of Christ that skillfully brings the restorative gospel to a lost and broken city. Something which feels like a spiritual landslide that starts with lostness and ends in an avalanche of new congregations multiplying and transforming community after community into which they unmistakably seep.

Authors Jeff Christopherson and Mac Lake call readers to imagine a movement that vividly remembers the insubstantial days of a mustard seed with a sense of awe and wonder when looking at the indescribable harvest that stands all around. Though the kingdom of God can't be forced by superficial methods, the good news is that when you move past the threshold of your competency and comfort, you find yourself in the very spot where God can use you like no other.

What wouldn’t you sacrifice to be a part of something that only could be described as a God-honoring gospel movement?

Ephesiology: The Study of the Ephesian Movement

Ephesiology: The Study of the Ephesian Movement

$15.99

If you want to understand the power of church planting movements, the place to begin is the first-century city of Ephesus. In this winsome study, Ephesiology offers readers a comprehensive view of the empowering work of the Holy Spirit in the most significant city of the New Testament, and compels us to ask the question: how can we effectively connect Christ to our culture?

This is not another methodology or attempt to recontextualize evangelicalism. Rather, it is a journey from the inception of the church in Ephesus as it became a movement grounded in God’s mission and led by those who multiplied generations of disciples. In Ephesiology, Michael T. Cooper focuses on Paul and John as missiological theologians who successfully connected Jesus’s teaching with the cultural context and narrative of the people in Ephesus. Their ability to relate the God of all creation to the people resulted in “the Way,” transforming the religious, intellectual, economic, and social fabrics of the Ephesian society.

Through this study of a movement, discover how the Holy Spirit still changes lives, cities, and the world.

The Spontaneous Expansion of the Church: And the Causes Which Hinder It

The Spontaneous Expansion of the Church: And the Causes Which Hinder It

$15.23eBook: $0.99

Roland Allen (1868–1947) was a British missionary who has written some of the most straight-forward works on missions available. These are not books written by an executive in a home office, but by a man who spent the majority of his life in the mission field.

As time progressed, Allen became somewhat disenfranchised with the established church, seeing a division between the formality of religion and the power of God.

Throughout his travels, Allen spent time ministering in China, India, Canada, and East Africa. He died while serving in Nairobi, Kenya, which is where he is buried. He was 78 years old. His work wasn’t well received until years after his death, but since then, his books have been considered some of the most revolutionary written on the subject of missions.

Some of what he taught that seemed counterintuitive at the time include the ideas that missionaries should be self-sustaining (like Paul, who made tents), should adapt their methods to local customs, and train locals to take over the mission work.

The Table of Contents are as follow:

Introduction
The Nature and Character of Spontaneous Expansion
Modern Movements Towards Liberty
Fear for the Doctrine
The Christian Standard of Morals
Civilization and Enlightenment
Missionary Organization
Ecclesiastical Organization
The Way of Spontaneous Expansion

The Mission of God’s People: A Biblical Theology of the Church’s Mission

The Mission of God’s People: A Biblical Theology of the Church’s Mission

$21.04eBook: $7.49

Chris Wright’s pioneering 2006 book, The Mission of God, revealed that the typical Christian understanding of “missions” encompasses only a small part of God’s overarching mission for the world. God is relentlessly reclaiming the entire world for himself. In The Mission of God’s People, Wright shows how God’s big-picture plan directs the purpose of God’s people, the church. Wright emphasizes what the Old Testament teaches Christians about being the people of God. He addresses questions of both ecclesiology and missiology with topics like “called to care for creation,” “called to bless the nations,” “sending and being sent,” and “rejecting false gods.” As part of the Biblical Theology for Life Series, this book provides pastors, teachers, and lay learners with first-rate biblical study while at the same time addressing the practical concerns of contemporary ministry. The Mission of God’s People promises to enliven and refocus the study, teaching, and ministry of those truly committed to joining God’s work in the world.

T4T: A Discipleship Re-Revolution: The Story Behind the World’s Fastest Growing Church Planting Movement and How it Can Happen in Your Community!

T4T: A Discipleship Re-Revolution: The Story Behind the World’s Fastest Growing Church Planting Movement and How it Can Happen in Your Community!

$15.94eBook: $9.99

In 2001, the Southern Baptist International Mission Board began tracking an Asia–based Church Planting Movement, a rapid multiplication of new church starts, that exceeded anything they had witnessed in the organization's 156–year history. In the decade that followed, the movement accelerated producing tens of thousands of new churches and hundreds of thousands of new baptized believers. By the end of the decade, this movement of God had seen 1.7 million baptisms and 150,000 new church starts.

Ying Kai and his wife Grace, Chinese–American Southern Baptist missionaries, developed the outreach and church planting program that they called Training for Trainers or T4T as a means of addressing the overwhelming challenge of an unreached people group numbering tens of millions of lost souls. Rather than simply doing evangelism, or discipleship, or church planting, the Kais felt led of God to train multiplying generations of national partners who in turn would train generations of the same.

In T4T: A Discipleship Re–Revolution fellow–Baptist missionary and author Steve Smith captures the story, principles, and spirit of Ying Kai's T4T. In this engaging 350–page book, Smith describes how God is at work in the fastest growing church–planting movement in the world today, and how its principles can be applied in your own ministry. T4T has already proven itself by adapting well to many other ministries, infusing them with reproducibility that enhances rather than competes with their own distinctive kingdom contribution.
Built on New Testament kingdom principles, T4T integrates evangelism, discipleship, church planting, and leadership development in a seamless process that has proven effective in multiplying new communities of faith. Though T4T was born in Asia, it is now bearing fruit in the U.S., as practitioners in Texas, Indiana, North Carolina and other states report multiplying generations of new believers, disciples and church starts. Learn more about T4T from its dedicated website www.T4TOnline.org.

Church Planting Movements: How God Is Redeeming A Lost World

Church Planting Movements: How God Is Redeeming A Lost World

$20.00eBook: $9.99

David Garrison, PhD University of Chicago, defines Church Planting Movements as rapidly multiplying indigenous churches planting churches that sweep across a people group or population segment. Garrison's Church Planting Movements: How God Is Redeeming a Lost World signaled a breakthrough in missionary church planting. After the publication of Garrison's book in 2004 it became impossible to talk about missions without referencing Church Planting Movements. Church Planting Movements examines more than two–dozen movements of multiplying churches on five continents. After presenting these case studies, Garrison identifies ten universal elements present in each movement. He then broadens the circle of examination to identify a further ten common characteristics, factors identified in most, but not all, of the movements. He concludes his examination with a list of "Seven Deadly Sins," i.e. harmful practices that stifle or impede Church Planting Movements. For five years Garrison served as the Associate Vice President for Global Strategy with the Southern Baptist International Mission Board (IMB). From this vantage point he had an unparalleled view of evangelical mission outreach in more than 180 countries. With the help of the IMB's Global Research Department, Garrison was able to make in–depth studies of some of the world's fastest growing movements to Christ. Important for evangelical readers, the author submits his findings to the scrutiny of Scripture to see how they stand up under the light of New Testament orthodoxy. What he discovers is that Church Planting Movements are much more consistent with the New Testament lay–led house–church movements that swept rapidly through the Mediterranean world in the face of hostile opposition than today's more sedentary professional brand Christianity. Church Planting Movements contains, case studies, maps, graphs, a selected bibliography, a biblical index, along with a topical index. Readers will appreciate the lively and engaging style, while practitioners will value the practical lessons and applications. Learn more about Church Planting Movements from the book's website: www.ChurchPlantingMovements.com. The website includes many free downloadable resources, including free booklets, PowerPoints, case studies, and articles.
