Social Justice @ Ephesiology

Justice is the result of the church on mission.

At Ephesiology, our passion for social justice flows from a conviction that faith is never merely a private spiritual matter, but a holistic witness to God’s mission in the world. Scripture presents a God who not only reconciles humanity to Himself through Christ, but who also calls His people to embody justice, mercy, and humility in their communities (Micah 6:8; Matthew 9:35). Our work consistently highlights that faithful discipleship requires imitating Jesus’ concern for the marginalized and oppressed, whether through asset-based church-driven development that empowers local churches to meet pressing needs sustainably or through missiological theology that situates the church’s mission within God’s reconciling work among the nations. To engage social injustice from a biblically informed worldview, then, is to take up the privilege of joining God’s redemptive mission—living as a faithful witness in response to the political, economic, and societal powers in our time and place. Our commitment is to embody a movement that not only proclaims the good news but also demonstrates it in tangible acts of love, justice, and reconciliation, believing that to love God necessarily compels us to love our neighbor in ways that transform society.

“Social justice is the application of the gospel in both word and deed.”

Master of Arts: Trauma and Resilience at Ephesiology Master Classes

A trauma informed and resilience focused program facilitated by faculty mentors with decades of experience

Missionaries and church leaders are becoming increasingly aware of the impact of trauma on the lives of those they disciple as well as those they are attempting to introduce to the gospel. The Master of Arts focused on Trauma and Resilience is a 48-credit hour program designed to equip missionaries and church leaders, as well as other concerned Christians, with the tools to aid individuals who have experienced domestic and sexual abuse, religious persecution, war and displacement (both internally and externally), among other traumatic events. The aim is to empower these individuals to cultivate resilience through their identity in Christ. The program is a multi-faceted experience incorporating self-paced and hybrid formats of learning that is facilitated by faculty mentors with decades of involvement in cross-cultural missions.
