God’s Mission in the World is a study of God's movement throughout history to reconcile our relationship with Him. It is a Christ centered approach of looking at the intersection of the Old Testament with the New Testament in God’s redemptive plan of salvation completed in Jesus. This narrative approach provides oral preference teachers and learners with the grand story of the Bible.
God’s Mission in the World is designed to help you tell the story of God’s work in the world. It focuses on the incredible journey of how God invaded human history in order to have a relationship with those who bear His image. It is a story best told to others in your words, just as Paul told the story in his words. It is not a complicated story although it is certainly profound. In its simplicity is the beauty of a gracious God who,
. . . so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have ever lasting life. (John 3:16)
Knowing stories from the Bible is of growing importance in a world where Christians are experiencing extreme persecution. Being able to recall these stories brings comfort to many as they suffer for the Lord. My hope is that by learning these stories you, too, will be courageous in your proclamation of the God who is with us.
